Leith road trip – photo blog

These past few days have been my favourite in a while. A 4.5 hour road trip to Edinburgh after a snowy few days at home was ideal.  With three days full of new foods and slow walks around the city we managed to do a tiny bit of sight seeing and a lot of relaxing. Our airbnb was listed as a retreat so we went with that theme.

Sunday was a driving day filled with pretty scenery. We went out for tacos at a place called Bodega when we arrived in Leith and the food was amazing! We stopped off at a pub quiz on route back and got a fair few points from guess work and geography related questions.

On Monday we walked up Cartlon hill, met up with a friend for lunch, found The Elephant House cafe (one of J.K. Rowling’s writing spots), looked around the National museum of Scotland, visited a bar with over 200 gins (56 North), walked up the Royal mile to the castle, and visited a few pubs and went out for tea in the evening.

By Tuesday lunchtime we had walked up to the top of Arthur’s seat for a view of the city and to burn some of our mini break calories before making the journey back home via one of favourite pubs.
