L.A. was a trip full of first time experiences for me.. first time on the west coast, first uber road trip, first visit to the Cheesecake Factory and California Disneyland!!
Going to Los Angeles came less than two weeks after my longer Mexico trip so I was feeling quite lucky with my roster. From the minute we got on-board I couldn’t wait to go to the original Disney! By staying in Anaheim we were right next to the Disneyland parks so it went without saying that we had to go for the day!
I was awake hours before sunrise so getting up early wasn’t an issue! I went with 5 of the other crew for a 14 hour ride marathon across both of the parks, $140 well spent. The whole place was halloween themed and it was amazing! 🎃 I watched a time-lapse years ago on how they do it overnight and it was so cute!
We spent the afternoon/evening at the adventure and pixar themed park and the rides there were so so good! The incredicoaster, soarin, symphony swings, and cars racers (were all amazing) .. if you’ve been you’ll know!
After a quick trip to the gym and a huge bucket of milkshake at denny’s with breakfast, we booked an uber to the Hollywood walk of fame which was just under an hour away. It was not at all what I expected, but it was good to see the stars and I made my own one (!) but it did feel like a total tourist trap.
We found a view point for the Hollywood sign in the distance and then went on to Santa Monica pier in the uber. The pier and the area around it was really unique, and there seemed to be a lot going on there, but as we walked along the beaches to muscle beach, we realised it looked and felt nothing like it does on the TV, guess that’s showbiz.
After a 2 hour drive back, watching gospel videos and uplifting music with the uber driver, we went to the Cheesecake Factory for tea before crashing in bed to get some rest before the flight home the next morning!
